RagaGuru Privacy Policy

Effective Date: October 13, 2026

RagaGuru ("RagaGuru," "we," "us," or "our") provides tools for learning Hindustani Sangeet, studying ragas, and preparing for music examinations. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the RagaGuru website or mobile application.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you use RagaGuru, we may collect information you provide when creating or using an account, such as your name, email address, student information, learning level, and other profile information.

If you upload learning materials or other documents to RagaGuru, those materials may be stored so that you can access them through the service.

How We Use Information

We use information to provide and operate RagaGuru, authenticate users, maintain student profiles, provide learning features, store user materials, provide subscription access, and improve the service.

Account Information

RagaGuru uses third-party services to provide account authentication and cloud data storage. Your account information is used to provide access to features associated with your account.

Subscriptions and Payments

RagaGuru offers optional paid subscriptions through Apple's App Store and Google Play. Apple or Google processes purchases and billing information for its store. RevenueCat manages subscription status and Premium access using purchase records, subscription identifiers, and the RagaGuru account identifier. RagaGuru does not receive or store your full payment card information.

Microphone and Singing Practice

Singing Practice requests microphone permission when you select Begin Test. Microphone audio is analyzed locally on your device for live pitch feedback, note-by-note scores, and pitch traces. This feature does not upload microphone audio to RagaGuru or its service providers. You can decline or revoke microphone permission in your browser or device settings; other learning features remain available.

User-Uploaded Materials

Documents and other materials that you upload to RagaGuru may be stored in cloud storage so that they can be accessed through the service. You should not upload information that you do not have permission to store or process.

Third-Party Services

RagaGuru uses Supabase for account authentication, student profiles, and cloud storage, and RevenueCat for subscription management. Apple and Google process store payments. These providers process information needed to provide their services.

Data Security

We use reasonable measures designed to protect information handled by RagaGuru. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Children

RagaGuru is intended for students and general users of music-learning services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate authorization.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain account and user-provided information while you use the service. You can delete your account automatically using the Delete account page, also linked from the Account section of RagaGuru. Sign in with your account email and password, type DELETE, and confirm. Successful deletion removes your account, cloud profile, uploaded files, and associated learning history from the active RagaGuru database. Local RagaGuru data on the device used for deletion is also cleared; clear app storage on other devices to remove their local copies. Store and RevenueCat transaction records are handled separately under their retention policies. Deleting a RagaGuru account does not automatically cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription; manage cancellations in the store where you subscribed.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are made, the updated effective date will be shown on this page.
